Huge congratulations to our U15’s boys footballers who are now Division 8 Feile Champions! Our second piece of silverware this weekend!
This fantastic bunch of lads who hail from both Crumlin & Robert Emmets overcame Clontarf in St. Anne’s Park this morning.
Well done lads, you are a credit to yourselves, your families and your club. Enjoy your success.
In other weekend matches unfortunately, our Mens Junior Footballers lost out on a Championship Final place to Geraldine P Moran being beaten by a single point earlier this morning in Pearse Park. Hard luck lads, you will rise again. Our Minor Camogie team lost their first Division 3 Championship match away to Faughs/Celtic, the final scoreline being Faughs/Celtic 4-10 to Crumlin’s 0-10.
Our Ladies Minor Division 5 Footballers can now call themselves DUBLIN COUNTY CHAMPIONS!
It was a hard fought battle against the defending champions Na Fianna, who showed themselves to be a strong and talented side.
Na Fianna were in top form from the off and the scoreline was not looking good at half time with Crumlin down by 11 points. However along with the swirling wind in the second half Crumlin stepped up a gear and battled back to go ahead with a few minutes of normal time left. An equalising point from Na Fianna in the dying minutes forced the match to extra time.
Extra time was nail biting stuff with tired bodies and leg cramps adding to the sideline tension. A couple of goals for Crumlin in the second half of extra time seemed to settle the team who hung on for their first trophy in only their maiden year of playing together.
Congratulations ladies, a fantastic achievement for yourselves. Your club is extremely proud of you.
We would also like to thank all the supporters who came along to cheer on the team.
Final scoreline: Crumlin 7-07(28) vs Na Fianna 4-09(21)
The whole club is bursting with nervous excitement for the Ladies Minor Football Championship Final this Saturday. Our girls take on Na Fianna at 3pm in Pearse Park. They have been training hard and refining their secret arsenal of tactics all week. They are ready but we want to know are YOU ready? This is a huge game for our club.
We’ve just entered winter but the atmosphere in Pearse Park will be red hot come Saturday. The girls already advanced to the final the first time of asking but due to a rule infringement by another club they had to replay the semi-final against a new opponent. Funnily enough the Crumlin girls take on Na Fianna who they beat after extra time in their first semi-final. All making for an alluring spectacle for the championship finale! We cannot wait. This is the why!
