Pearse Park belonged to one man today and that was Crumlin legend Darren Hodgins.
Darren completed his unfathomable 147km fundraising run today in aid of Crumlin GAA Club.
Darren arrived back in Pearse Park in such good form and speed you’d be forgiven for thinking he only just ran from his house around the corner! An amusing story was shared that Darren challenged some of the U16 Camogie girl support runners to a sprint challenge in Tallaght and beat them all!
Darren has set an amazing example to all of us that whatever you set your mind to you can achieve and has also proven to be an amazing role model for all our juveniles to look up to.
Thank you Darren.
Darren expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped him achieve his goal.
All donations for Darren’s run will go directly towards to the promotion of Gaelic games to children in the Crumlin community.
Any donation no matter how small makes a huge difference to Crumlin GAA, a local community driven GAA club.
The GoFundMe link will remain open in case you still wish to donate. Donate here.
We would also like to thank every single person that came to the park this morning to show their support for Darren and Crumlin. Special thanks to all the volunteers who helped setup the bunting, signs and refreshments station & Alan Davis for the additional photography.
We would also like to thank Garden Party Hire for providing us with the beautiful gazebo, bar tables and stools.
